Wow limited amount of living space. Sorry to be off topic here but I have never heard someone say such a thing and I mean no offense at all. Just curious as to how big of a living space do you live in when an oven is so small that every home has one and every apartment or condo comes with one in America?

Especially in HK, with the limited amount of living space, oven are indeed considered a luxury. On top of that Chinese cuisine is usually just a wok and you can get most dishes made so an oven is really not that necessary! Back to the alternative protein topic, been seeing a lot of alternative protein ready meal that are quick and easy microwave to eat, not sure if they are good in terms of nutrients tho 🤔

Here’s me searching online to see if it’s possible to make tempeh with a wok lol, ovens are a luxury in here in China! 😂😂

If your kitchen oven is capable of keeping a 30°C temperature for 12h, then you only need the legume you prefer to use as substrate (soybeans, chickpeas (my favorite), lentils, peas...), plastic sandwich bags (the more widely used option), vinegar and the starter (sold online in powder form). The best brand is the Indonesian market leader: Raprima. That's the one that gives you the best results. Just a teaspoon for 500g of the legume you choose. And one tablespoon of vinegar. That's the ratio of ingredients. So, in total, it's extremely cheap. Store bought is pricier but not expensive, being sold at around the same cost as tofu per weight. At least here in Switzerland. And also in Germany, from what I have seen. They are marketed as similar/ substitutes/ competitors, it seems. But vegan brands usually offer both options.
