5 mins of one type of breathe practice a day to make permanent postive changes to your brain

“And the basic takeaway from this study was that the cyclic sighing led to a more dramatic calming both within the breathwork session, but also the ability to regulate one state away from the breathwork session.
People reported heightened sense of wellbeing, reduced anxiety, improved sleep, lower resting, heart rate overall.”
So Huberman gave people Whoop bands to wear and told them to do 5 minutes of one type of breath practice a day
5 mins of box breathing, 5 mins of wim hof, 5 mins of physiological sighs, or 5 mins of just paying attention to your breath
Then they looked at whoop band raw data that was being collected 24/7
Conclusion: 5 minutes of cyclic sighing produced the most positive changes to physiology outside of the breathing
the physiological sigh offloads your carbon dioxide, reinflates the alveoli, and puts you in parasymathetic mode (rest and relaxation) instead of sympathetic (fight or flight)
